SPARTAN GRIDIRON CLUB
The Spartan Gridiron Club
The Spartan Gridiron Club supports the Vel Phillips Memorial Spartan Football program by providing financial and volunteer support to Spartan coaches, players, families and the Spartan community.
While the Spartan Gridiron Club plays an invaluable role by raising money to support the Spartan Football program, one key team-building Gridiron traditions is providing food and utensils for the weekly team dinner, which includes all high school football players and coaches. The Gridiron club purchases food, members donate and prepare food, and volunteers serve the players. While this is a costly venture both in terms of money and volunteer time, it is key to the Spartan football culture.
Examples of Gridiron support include:
Game jerseys
Helmets
Guardian soft shell helmet cover worn during practice for impact reduction.
Game balls
Software used by the Spartan coaching staff.
Food for away games and summer practice.
Ice for ice baths on film day.
Awards
Examples of past fundraisers include:
Selling Spartan merch
A bi-annual silent auction at Dahmen’s
Home game program advertising sales
